I’m Chris Barlow, the DJ behind Wide Awakes OG and founder of Original Groove Works.

My approach was shaped over decades—from discovering hip-hop in Mount Vernon, to Stanford college radio, and into the San Francisco and New York club scenes. Today's sound represents a new chapter built around curated sound, storytelling, and live experience.
I blend hip-hop, soul, house, jazz, and global grooves through a deep-cut lens—creating music that feels familiar enough to connect, but unexpected enough to be remembered.
